Orchards Reserve builds upon the original's foundation of apricot, citrus, and warm spice, evolving into our deepest, most concentrated expression yet through 40 months in barrel — the longest age on any of our current Reserves. By resting it in freshly emptied Foursquare rum barrels, we found a partner whose flavor profile — decadent aged rum — meets Orchards on its own terms. The result is a rich, earthy amaro layered with notes of dried apricot, dark chocolate, and toasted spice.

Reserve Series
The Brucato Reserve Series represents a rare exploration of patience, place, and craft — a deeper expression of California’s terroir through the lens of aged amaro. Each release begins with one of our core spirits, carefully rested in select whiskey barrels. Over months and years, the botanicals evolve, developing new dimensions of depth, warmth, and character that only time can reveal. These limited bottlings honor the art of transformation — where familiar flavors mature into something entirely new, and each barrel tells its own quiet, distinct story.
Black Walnut
We love the nuts of Black Walnuts for eating, but use the dried hulls of the fruit - a byproduct of nut production. We adore the soft tanins and rich notes that they impart to our amaros.
Blenheim Apricots
Blenheim are widely considered the best type of apricots, renowned for their vibrant-orange color and rich, tangy flavor. When dried under the California sun, they become a perfect base for our stone-fruit forward Orchards amaro.
Meyer Lemon
Meyer lemons - a cross between a citron and mandarin - are prized for their relatively sweet flavor and thin, fragrant skin, which we use a bright accent in our Orchards and Chaparral.
RUM BARREL AGED VERSION OF OUR MOST AWARDED AMARO
40 months in ex-Foursquare rum barrels, and a richer, darker, more assertive amaro than the original. We wanted a barrel-finish that would complement Orchards rather than overpower it, and aged Caribbean rum proved the match: bright stone fruit and citrus notes became marmalade and dried fruit, caramel darkened to burnt sugar, while oak added weight, structure, and a deep earthy bitterness.
Each sip reveals something new: dried apricot, cacao, and dry wood on the nose; caramelized stone fruit, walnut and dark chocolate on the palate; toasted cardamom and mace threaded throughout. The bitterness is bold and two-sided — the round bitterness of oak alongside the bright bitterness of gentian — with a lingering, rich finish of bitter orange peel and cinnamon. Enjoy it neat to experience the full complexity, or over a large ice cube to open its layered aromatics. Orchards Reserve is an amaro for slow drinking and long evenings with friends.
