Dear San Francisco,
We made this gin for you—San Francisco—our muse, our home. Each botanical was chosen not only for flavor but for the story it tells: Meyer lemon peel nods to your bright, electric energy; coriander to the cultural tapestry of your people; bay laurel to your parks, bringing cool and calm to all who visit—coyote, hawk, and human alike; and fennel to your windswept headlands and ocean dunes. We combined these botanicals, and others, out of love for your fragrant hills and variegated beauty.
San Francisco, you are the muse of so many before us. Artists, writers, and visionaries—those in pursuit of prosperity, innovation, or the freedom to simply love who they love—have always found solidarity in your people, refuge in your fog, and clarity in your chaos. You are the canvas that inspired the words of Ferlinghetti and the restless improvisation of the Beats. You are the echo of Janis’s voice in the Haight, the stage of Beach Blanket Babylon and the Club Fugazi acrobats that followed, the revolutionary brushstrokes of your many brave muralists, and the sharp lines of present-day poets and painters.
This gin is our tribute to your distinct character—to your steep streets and salt-kissed breezes, to your bridges and hidden stairways, to your bookstores, local boutiques, art galleries, coffee shops and dive bars, your resilience, your art, your beauty, your unfolding story. If we're romanticizing you, so be it. We appreciate and admire you that much.
With love,
Sierra and James, and the entire Brucato team
